The following are two of the most-requested Peachtree Knowledge Center articles related to Peachtree Accounting product line year-end issues. After installing the Tax Service in Peachtree Release 2005 and higher, I do not see the new tax tables under File, Payroll Tax Tables, Peachtree-Maintenance. How do I correct this? To view the tax tables after installing the tax service in Peachtree 2005 and higher, you must first register your tax tables. Information on registering your tax service is available within the product Help files. www.peachtree.com/taxregister. Have your Peachtree product serial number available. (Select About from the Help menu within Peachtree). The current year tax tables will not install properly. How do I correct this problem? If the Tax Update disk did not install properly, you can manually install these files by following the steps below. - Select the Start button on the Windows Task bar and then select Run. In the Command line type Explorer and click the OK button. The Windows Explorer window will display.
- Select the C:\ drive and then double click on Program Files, then double click on the Sage Software folder (the default directory is Sage Software) and then double click on the Peachtree folder. Click one time to open the Company directory. In the Company folder there will be a file named TAXTABLE.DAT.
Note: The default directory for release 2005 will be Program Files\Peachtree. For Release 2006 and 2007 the default directory will be Program Files\Sage Software\Peachtree. If you are on a network, you will need to browse to the Peachtree\Company directory on your network drive. If you had performed an Advanced installation, your drive letter and/or the program directory name may be different. - Click one time to highlight TAXTABLE.DAT. Right-click and select Rename from the drop-down menu. Rename the file from TAXTABLE.DAT to TAXTABLE.OLD.
- Now place your Tax Update CD in your CD drive. Right-click on the CD-Rom drive icon on the left side of Windows Explorer. This will display the contents of the CD in the drive. Double-click on the Tax Install folder, then double-click on the the Peachtree folder which matches your program release (e.g., choose Peachtree 2007 Tax Installer if you are using Release 2007) and then double click on the TAXFILES folder.
- Locate the Taxtable.dat file and right click on this file. Select Copy from the drop down.
- On the left side of the Windows Explorer, click one time to highlight your Peachtree\Company directory. From the Edit menu select Paste. This will manually load the Tax Tables into your Peachtree-Maintained Tax Tables.
Your taxtables are now installed.
